War and Peace (Christmas Homily)

December 25, 2022 - Jon Storck

Luke 2: 8-14

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Peace with Others

December 18th, 2022 - Rev. Jon Storck

Ephesians 4:1-6

[1] I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, [2] with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, [3] eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [4] There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— [5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Peace With Ourselves

December 4, 2022 - Rev. Cam Brown

Philippians 4:4-7

[4] Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. [5] Let your reasonableness be known

to everyone. The Lord is at hand; [6] do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by

prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. [7] And

the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in

Christ Jesus. (ESV)
